Digital Hygiene Services

We all know of IT companies that have great products and systems, however, they may be too complicated or counter-intuitive. Many neurodiverse individuals, along with geriatrics and military veterans facing cognitive challenges may struggle online. Our mission is to bridge this gap by providing comprehensive, end-to-end cybersecurity solutions tailored to the unique needs of our community.

We provide a seamless user-interface (UI). They include: password management systems, parental controls, VPN, identity fraud  monitoring, Zero Trust systems,  anti-virus, data broker deletions, credit monitoring, and identity fraud insurance ($1-$5 million). These services are available for less than a few cups of coffee per month.

Our core product and services philosophy is centered on (RUV) – “Relatable,  easily Understood, and adds Value.”  These principles shape our approach, guaranteeing that our offerings are technically robust and user-friendly.  If a product or service doesn’t bring value, it doesn’t align with our mission.

ABOUT US

24/7 Cyber Security Operation Center

Digital Hygiene Services ℠ is a service-disabled veteran-owned and operated small business  based in the D.C., MD., area. We are a Privacy and Cyber Security company.  Our focus extends beyond Cyber Awareness and Culture Advocacy. We are dedicated Innovators, committed to improving digital safety and accessibility for the Neurodiverse Community by offering low-maintenance end-to-end cybersecurity ecosystems.

Cybersecurity for a Diverse and Inclusive Workplace (DEI) – In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, it is imperative that individuals with cognitive challenges should be protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As technologies advance and remote work opportunities expand, it is our responsibility to empower the neurodiverse community. We enable them to achieve greater independence and success in web-based careers.

Our Mission

Our mission at Digital Hygiene Services is deeply rooted in our personal experiences as parents and guardians of neurodiverse learners. Life has presented us with its fair share of challenges, but it has also been profoundly rewarding. Most importantly, this company was birthed by the parents of “Inspiring, Insightful and Wonderful children!”

As the parents of multiple children with  Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), our journey began with the struggles of our oldest child.  He  grappled  with impulsivity and poor decision making skills. He would often run  away from home. As he grew more independent, unbeknownst to family, he bused and hitchhiked all the way from Maryland to Los Angeles.

Arriving in Los Angeles penniless and alone; he found himself on the harsh streets of Skid Row. For nearly two years, he navigated the unforgiving streets, trying to survive in an environment most people could not imagine. What makes his story even more heartbreaking is that he fell victim to identity fraud while on the streets of LA. His credit profile and  financial future was ruined, and haunted him for years to come. Years later, he was financially defrauded by cyber scammers. Our community  shared  stories and struggles birthed our business model.

Our cadre of Educational Professionals, Contract Specialists, Disability Specialists and Cyber-Security Specialists work to provide a safer future to our neurodiverse learners.
Our strategic B2B partnerships and affiliates have been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals, and we are grateful for their support. We are committed to becoming a virtual safezone – an online cornucopia for all things concerning digital hygiene, cyber security,  and policy.

Neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity is a term coined by sociologist Judy Singer (who is autistic) in 1997. It refers to the idea that neurological differences, such as those found in individuals with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other conditions, should be seen as natural variations in human functioning rather than as disorders that need to be cured or fixed.

Neurodiversity challenges the traditional view of disability as a deficit or a defect, and instead emphasizes the unique strengths and abilities that neurodivergent individuals bring to the table. For instance, people with autism often have exceptional attention to detail, strong pattern recognition abilities, and a keen eye for design. People with dyslexia may excel in areas such as creative problem-solving, verbal communication, and interpersonal relationships.

When properly trained and vetted, the neurodiverse learner  can excel in remote work. Our services provide a user-friendly ecosystem, thus higher levels of autonomy for the end-user. With our “Vendor Risk Assessment” systems,  employers can  place trust and confidence in neurodiverse  employees, particularly in computer-based career fields where compliance is critical.

Vulnerabilities in our community

Above all, what cybercriminals truly understand is the potency of Social-Engineering. In simpler terms, many of our clients have fallen victim to hacking, identity fraud, and other scams by sharing personal data with so-called friends. Our team employs edutainment and digital tools to emphasize the critical importance of avoiding unfamiliar individuals and systems.

Merely clicking on a suspect web link often means handing over the keys to their personal, financial, and social data to these fraudsters. Unfortunately as advocates, we have witnessed a continuous stream of financial ruin resulting from identity theft and credit card fraud. These injustices have a devastating impact on individuals within our community affecting them at an alarming rate.
